Life Always Changes and Moves

Welcome to Life Changes Counseling Services!

Greetings! My name is Pollie Lang (she/her), and I am a Pennsylvania-Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) therapist based in Swarthmore, PA. I provide a safe, supportive, and private therapeutic environment so we can navigate your life's challenges. As a caring and interactive therapist my goal is to help you become a more effective and transformed you! I specialize in Grief, Loneliness, Relationship Issues, and Life Transitions with employment or chronic medical illness. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities tailored to you. Whatever your life changes and challenges are, I encourage you to email me through this website (click here to go to the form below) or through my Psychology Today therapist page.

AN ALERT!

***Potential clients, please be ALERTED:

I am a private practice board certified LCSW  therapist. Through my professional organization, PSCSW, it has come to my attention that a number of "ghost-directory therapy websites" are using therapists names and information and then placing it on their website without the therapists notice or approval.

At least one of the those types of therapist-directiory sites has done that to me. If you see my name and/or information on a "therapist-directory" website other than Psychology Today or my own webiste, I did not authorize it.

I encourage you to become more informed by reading the following excellent article on this topic:

Who am I?

Before becoming a Clinical Licensed Social Worker (LCSW), I had other work experiences that I would like to share with you. One of them was my involvement with bone marrow transplant cancer patients in Columbia, SC, and also with hospice patients here in Pennsylvania. Those two experiences alone compelled me to found and facilitate Life Changes Bereavement Group.  Continuing my love for hospital systems, and helping others, I decided on graduate school in 2011 to build upon my undergraduate coursework in clinical psychology and work experiences. I received my MSS from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research in 2014. I received my PA Licensed Clinical Social Work (CW019466) Board certified designation in 2017.

After graduation in 2014, I worked with Crozer Community Hospital (now in bankruptcy) for many years, working primarily with the under-served. While there I obtained certifications in Behavioral Health Tech/DBT for emotional regulation and EMDR Institute HAP/EMDR Basic Training for trauma.  To more deeply continue my dedication to helping and caring for people in transformative ways, I embarked in a long-time dream by founding Life Changes Counseling Services in 2018. I completely love what I do and working in this field continues to be a wonderful journey for me!

I would love to hear from you! To reach out to me, please scroll down to my Contact Form section and  I'll get back to you within 24-hours!

I work primarily with adolescents (14+), adults, elderly, couples, and some families. My clients come from a variety of communities and backgrounds, and include those with chronic medical illnesses, healthcare workers, veterans, LGBTQ+ and more.

Mission: Helping and Caring for Others and Transforming Lives

  • I began loving the helping field as a young girl and as I grew my passion grew also. There is nothing I would rather do than work with people as a therapist! I love hearing people's stories and connecting with them in a creative and therapeutic way that is beneficial in their lives.
  • I am a caring and realistic therapist. My ultimate goal is to collaboratively tailor treatment to help my clients heal from their pain and suffering while gaining beneficial life skills. I absolutely want to see my clients live fuller and more joyful lives.
  • I meet or exceed the LCSW continuing education requirements to maintain my license through attending workshops and conferences. I believe in staying thoroughly up-to-date with the latest research.

How Do I Get Started?

  1. To schedule a brief 15-minute phone consultation, please email me through this website (click here to go to the form below) or through my Psychology Today therapist page. If you do not hear back from me within 48 hours, please email me again. I respond to inquiries!
  2. After our initial 15-minute phone session, and if we feel we can work well together, I will send you my client portal invite that will have the initial Intake forms for you to complete. You will then send the completed forms back to me through the portal before our Intake session. This is an easy and convenient process.

Please note, I understand that life happens and that you may need to modify your session time.  I ask for 24-hours advance notice. Any late notice or no-show appointments are billed accordingly.

I accept Cash and Check payments along with Credit Card (Amex, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa) and Debit Card payments, including those for your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Health Reimbursement Account (HRA). As a convenience, I will set up your payment method during our intake session.
